Adoption Family of the Week #16-The Martine Family!

The adoption family of the week this week is Doug and Cristie Martine from San Antonio, Texas. They have been married since March 14, 1998 and have 3 children, Canyon, 10, Dakota, 8, and Maliah, 4, who they adopted from China. They have felt since coming home from China in 2006 that they may not be done adopting. Shortly after America World opened the Ethiopia program, they began talking about adopting from there. Over the next four years they kept asking "When", but never heard the word to go...until recently Doug said at the dinner table that he knew it was time to GO and their journey to Ethiopia began. On July 26, 2010, they sent in their application to America World and became DTE on December 9! They are going to be adopting a little 3 to 5-year-old boy that they will name Levi. Let's pray that they have a very short wait for their referral! You can read their entire story on their blog here.

They have a few different fundraisers going on. They are putting together a puzzle for Levi that will have the names of those who sponsor a piece on the back of it so he will be able to see who all helped to bring him home. To sponsor a piece, you can buy a t-shirt here (on the left side of their blog), buy 2 lbs. of coffee here, or just donate $10 to sponsor one puzzle piece.

Today I Kissed an Angel

Today I kissed an angel. I knew it from the start. The first time my angel smiled at me; I gave away my heart.

Today I kissed an angel; This angel child of mine. Though not of my creation, My child by God's design.

Today I kissed an angel. My heart is dancing wild; Our family, by a miracle; Blessed by our angel child.
