One Month Home-iversary

Wow, I can't believe a month has passed already! Time flies when you have two VERY active little boys! I just have to say that I LOVE being a mom. It is as good as I ever dreamed...maybe even better. Jeremiah and Simon are doing great! They are almost always happy and I just love hearing their laughter, singing, talking, and shrieks of happiness when Daddy comes home. I love hearing their little footsteps running through the house. I love being able to hug and kiss them throughout the day. For so long I have dreamed of looking in my rear view mirror and seeing a child and now I get to see TWO! They really enjoy being outside and we try to go for walks about every day. They are great eaters and have eaten pretty much everything I've given them. They both go to bed very easily, both for their nap and bedtime. We have established a bedtime routine and it's cute when they tell us what will come next. I thank the Lord every day for bringing these boys into our lives. Dreams really do come true!

Highlights of my first mother's day

These are in no particular order, just listed as I remember them. :-)

1.  Going to church for the first time in Nebraska as a family of FOUR!!!!!

2.  Getting a potted flower for mother's day at church.

3.  At the Cheesecake Factory where we had lunch, Simon wanting to go potty on the toilet and then saying VERY loudly "Bye potty! Bye poopy!" as the toilet was flushing.

4.  When I took Jeremiah to the bathroom in Hy-Vee, another woman tooted loudly enough for us to hear and Jeremiah said "Eek! What was THAT?" quite loudly.

5.  Having Jeremiah shriek with happiness at everything on the shelves of Hy-Vee as we walked by.

6.  Having Garth change Simon's dirty diaper as I was putting the groceries away and discovering it was a blowout.

7.  Having a large carmel frappuccino from Starbucks.

8.  Looking in my rearview mirror and seeing the most wonderful boys I could have ever imagined sitting in their car seats and having the best husband in the world next to me.

Happy Mother's Day

Tomorrow, as everyone knows, is Mother's Day. Obviously, I am very excited that this year I will be able to celebrate it AS a mommy, however my heart is heavy for all those who have a mommy's heart but no children to share it with yet. Every year gets harder and harder for each of these women. In previous years, I would pretty much try to avoid all mothers because I was so jealous....yes I know that jealousy is wrong, but when your heart wants something that you don't have yet, it's hard not to have those feelings. Unless you have gone through that situation, you can't know how hard it is. So I want to tell all my childless blog readers who so desperately want a child, just remember that the Lord will fulfill your heart's desire in one way or another. It took 38 years for me to have my dreams for a child come true so don't give up hope...your time is coming.

To celebrate my first Mother's day, I wanted to share some of my favorite photos of the boys taken since we got back to the US. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Today I Kissed an Angel

Today I kissed an angel. I knew it from the start. The first time my angel smiled at me; I gave away my heart.

Today I kissed an angel; This angel child of mine. Though not of my creation, My child by God's design.

Today I kissed an angel. My heart is dancing wild; Our family, by a miracle; Blessed by our angel child.
