Melkam Addis Amet (Happy New Year)!!!

On September 11 as we mourn the loss of 3000+ lives in New York City and Washington, DC, the people of Ethiopia are celebrating the new year so I would like to wish a Melkam Addis Amet to all my Ethiopian friends. While I reflect on these 2 occasions that fall on the same day, I am reminded that while many of us are grieving the loss of life, security, and even some of our liberties, there are others who are celebrating the new year, hope for great things to come this year, and good times with family and friends. Thank you, Lord, that even after tragedies like 9/11/01, there are still happy occasions to celebrate.

Today I Kissed an Angel

Today I kissed an angel. I knew it from the start. The first time my angel smiled at me; I gave away my heart.

Today I kissed an angel; This angel child of mine. Though not of my creation, My child by God's design.

Today I kissed an angel. My heart is dancing wild; Our family, by a miracle; Blessed by our angel child.
